‘New Nuremberg’ awaits Russian fascists, says Zelenskyy

On the anniversary of the Kyiv Oblast town of Bucha’s liberation from Russian occupation, the Ukrainian president announced that representatives from nearly 50 countries had attended the second United for Justice conference and first Bucha Summit.

“All of this (was) aimed at accelerating and energizing the global efforts towards (setting up a) tribunal on Russia’s aggression, towards new orders from the International Criminal Court for the arrest of Russian war criminals, and towards lawful and just verdicts that all Russian murderers and torturers must receive,” Zelenskyy said.
Justice for Ukraine will be restored and “there will be a new Nuremberg for the Russists (a term used in Ukraine to describe Russian fascists),” he added.

Participants of the Bucha Summit on March 31 signed the Bucha Declaration, showing their support for holding those responsible for the most serious Russian crimes in Ukraine accountable.
Russian troops entered Bucha in the first days of the full-scale war against Ukraine. After the retreat of Russian invasion forces from Kyiv Oblast in late March 2022, the world saw the results of their atrocities, which claimed the lives of hundreds of people.

In Bucha, Irpin, and along the Zhytomyr highway, the bodies of peaceful Ukrainian civilians, tortured and killed by Russians, were found.
In the Bucha district of Kyiv Oblast, invaders committed more than 9,000 war crimes and killed over 1,400 civilians, 637 of whom were from Bucha, police and war crimes investigators have found.
